Once you have completed this, please read page 122 in your textbooks "Fitness in society".

As a class we will brainstorm the importance society places on being fit?
Following this we will brainstorm why having good fitness is important.
Compare the two, what are the differences and what are the similarities between the two lists? Discuss.
It's important to recognise the different values that society places on being fit compared to the other reasons. The motivations for each individual to become/maintain a good level of fitness are different.

Can a person be overweight but still be fit?
Are there any examples for and against each case?
